About Zac

Zac has had Type 2 Diabetes for more than 20 years. Despite trying all the methods that are known to him, he couldn’t stop his Blood Sugar from going up. In fact, he was already under 2 insulin shots a day along with other medicines yet his condition was getting worse gradually to the point where his doctor advised him to be prepared for amputation.

Health Condition Before Treatment

  • Very high Blood Sugar, above 30 mmol/l

  • Taking high dosage of Insulin

  • Worsening foot condition

Challenges We Faced

  1. Zac’s Blood Sugar was extremely high. Any sharp fall in his Blood Sugar may expose him to life-threatening risks.

  2. His foot rot was worsening and it was a race against time to get it healed before amputation becomes necessary. He was already told to be prepared for amputation.

  3. We were not 100% sure that we can help him avoid amputation.

How We Helped Him

  • Advised Zac on the difficulty of his case and made clear to him that we are not 100% confident in helping him to achieve a full recovery.

  • Advised him to visit his doctor regularly so his medicine can be adjusted accordingly and his doctor can help monitor his health condition.

  • Prepared all his meals to make sure he only eats the right type and portion of food.

  • Engaged his family to keep him in check.

6-7 weeks after he completed Treatment: Blood Sugar 4.5mmol/l
